PORT RICHIE, Florida – If some Florida lawmakers have their way, Port Richey’s existence as a city could come to an end.

Two legislators in Tallahassee have plans to dissolve the city due to debt built up by its local government.

The city has had problems with its local government officials over the past year. Former Mayor Dale Massad was arrested, followed by his deputy mayor, Terrence Rowe.

If the legislation is successful, Port Richey would be run by Pasco County.
