Authorities have named it as the “largest seizure of heroin” by the Polk County Sheriff’s Office.
It all began when authorities discovered someone was sending methamphetamine to Polk County by mail from California.
Detectives working undercover did a set up to buy 100 pounds of meth from the California supplier, which led them to traffickers in Polk county.
During the investigation, authorities seized 5½ kilos of heroin worth approximately $4.9 million. “Operation Trifecta” resulted in 7 arrests in Polk County.
Scott Wilder, Polk County agency spokesperson, said in a news release, “This is the largest seizure ever of heroin by the Polk County Sheriff’s Office.”
