ALAMO, NEVADA - SEPTEMBER 20: A car drives with 'Area 51' written on the back before the start of a 'Storm Area 51' spinoff event called 'Area 51 Basecamp' on September 20, 2019 near Alamo, Nevada. The event is a spinoff from the original 'Storm Area 51' Facebook event which jokingly encouraged participants to rush the famously secretive Area 51 military base in order to 'see them aliens'. Two tiny desert towns not far from from the once-secret Area 51 are hosting related events this weekend. The military has warned attendees not to approach the protected Area 51 military installation. 2019 was filled with memes, moments, videos and ideas that we would have thought of as insane 10 years ago. Here are some of the notable internet moments, memes and ideas that went viral, which need no introduction or explanation. Which was your favorite? Or… least favorite?

Let’s storm Area 51: Oh, you mean one of the most secretively secured locations on US soil that the government will do anything to protect? Yeah, great idea.

Momo Challenge: Terrible.

‘Okay, Boomer’: Hey, I didn’t make it up.

Lady yelling at the Cat: By far, this evolving meme is the best of the year.

Sponge Bob, Aight Imma Head Out: Coming in at a close second place.

Fort Nite: So, how’s that divorce coming along?

Will Smith as the Aladdin Genie: Horrifying.

Baby Yoda: The official ruling on the field is, totes adorbs. Aww.

“I’m Gonna Tell My Kids That”: We skipped 2019 and went straight to 2020.

Bird Box: I can’t see.

Aunt Becky: I refuse to call her by her government name.

Bottle Cap Challenge: Who knew John Mayor would set the MMA world on fire with his?

The Joker Movie: Set the internet on fire & highest-grossing moving in history, so it’s on the list.

Six Nine Snitching on rappers and his gang: Rainbows and guns.

Cats, the Musical, as a Movie: WHY?

Hot Girl Summer: I prefer a Conservative Girl Autumn.

No One: (You: blah blah blah)

If I had it my way, we would have just listed off Baby Yoda 12 or 13 times, Sponge Bob Heading out twice, and the lady (Taylor Armstrong of Real House Wives) yelling at the cat at the table a few times. Shout out to Smudge the cat.
