If you drive Tampa roads, you may see some intermittent changes in traffic patterns. That’s because Tampa Water Department is on its next phase of a large project. Which locations will be affected?
Beginning Monday, September 14, and running through November 2, Tampa Water Department is running a “Water Distribution System Valve Assessment, Repair, and Replacement Project”. Sound like a big deal? Well, it will seem like it if you’re stuck in traffic. Areas at this time that will be seeing work are near the stadium including sections of Drew Park, MacFarlane Park, and Plaza Terrace. Here are the locations where you will see detours and road closures. They will be clearly marked with signs and barricades.
- Along W. Tampa Bay Boulevard, starting at N. Lois Avenue and moving east towards N. MacDill Avenue
- Along W. Martin Luther King Boulevard, starting at N. Cortez Avenue and moving east towards N. Habana Avenue
- Along N. Himes Avenue, starting at W. Tampa Bay Boulevard and moving north towards W. Hillsborough Avenue
The Tampa Water Department, in their press release, thanks everyone for their patience as upgrades are completed on the water distribution center. (Continue once finished giggling)
The project is part of the Progressive Infrastructure Plan to Ensure Sustainability (PIPES… cute, huh?)
