The Tampa Bay Business Journal says the St. Pete/Clearwater Film Commission is looking to get a half million dollars from Pinellas County so they can shoot a movie in Pinellas County. They say it’d be like advertisement for tourism. They’ll try to sell the movie to Hallmark. A meeting to hear the plan out is set for next week.
It wouldn’t be the first movie shot for The Hallmark Channel here. “Love In The Sun” was shot in Safety Harbor.
Those who like the idea say local hotels will get some needed business and it’ll provide jobs. But for them to get the money, they have to shoot 20 “beauty” scenes that show off our beaches or attractions. Plus two locations need to be mentioned by name. If they get the green light, they hope to have work wrapped up by fall. [Source: Tampa Bay Business Journal]
