Building bridges and friendships with law enforcement officers can help keep communities safe from misunderstandings that have lead to tragic incidents with police. Some officers take the time to not only protect and serve but also to develop relationships with citizens in their jurisdiction. First responders building those bridges are trying to serve their community. It may take a couple of generations, but the relationship between citizens and officers can become stronger and safer for the community.
