Shriner has the local Pinellas County and West Pasco area CEO, Habitat for Humanity, Mike Sutton. Mike has reached a special milestone in the area by completing their 700th home. Since 1985 Habitat of Humanity has been building homes in the area but only in the last few years have they greatly increased their output. Monday, the Sakers family received the special home changing their lives forever. According to Mike, not many in their organization as a whole reach 700 homes.
Habitat for Humanity has many other milestones to add to Monday’s dedication. Firstly, they have worked hand in hand with a Brush of Kindness and provided at least 201 homes to needy families. Secondly, the donations brought into the organization have helped to fund 589 homes overseas. Finally, providing a family a home with no interest help provide the education required to succeed in the future. These small factors have led to the overall success in the community expected to be felt for years to come.
