Schnitt comes in with information about the recall of Gavin Newsome, the current Governor of California. His primary opponent was Larry Elder, a conservative talk show host from southern California. However, Schnitt believes that Larry Elder handed the democrats a win. Schnitt never thought that anyone but a Democrat would ever win but is still unhappy with Newsome making it through. Schnitt agrees with Larry Elder on a lot of issues, but he still stood no chance. However, Schnitt’s and Elder’s beliefs are different; he still doesn’t care for the “rules for thee and not for me approach” of Gavin Newsome.
They are not done counting the votes yet, but Larry Elder has already conceded defeat. Graciously compliments Schnitt. There was talk of Elder claiming election fraud, but it never came to fruition. Furthermore, some of these claims were already circulating, which some believe had a possible effect on voter turnout. People may have been unwilling to vote in what they thought to be a rigged the election. Despite these claims, the real detriment to the Larry Elders campaign was him showing up. Gavin Newsome was projected to be recalled. However, when Democrats saw who the frontrunner against Newsome was, they took action against Elder to push Newsome to the top.
