Schnitt Show

Weekdays 3PM - 6PM

WASHINGTON, DC - OCTOBER 05: Facebook whistleblower, Frances Haugen appears before the Senate Commerce, Science, and Transportation Subcommittee at the Russell Senate Office Building on October 05, 2021 in Washington, DC. Haugen left Facebook in May and provided internal company documents about Facebook to journalists and others, alleging that Facebook consistently chooses profit over safety. After the recent hysteria caused by the shutdown of all apps associated with Facebook, it’s time to get back to the Frances Haugen testimony to congress. Schnitt believes she will be a one-woman wrecking ball with all the facts she has brought with her about the current companies standards and practices. However, Schnitt believes she is more than a scorned woman because she has managed to get forth a trove of information supporting her claims.

Schnitt is okay with how this is turning out. This is because he believes that Mark Zuckerberg is accountable to no one. According to Frances, Zuckerberg owns over 55% of Facebook shares. This makes him unbeatable when it comes to a vote on the companies actions. Zuckerberg is only accountable to himself.

Schnitt has three clips of Frances Haugen’s testimony to congress, and each is more damaging to Facebook than the last. Firstly in the initial clip, she explains more on her point of the Facebook Shareholder status. This offers a unique role in the tech industry because no other company has this. In the second clip, she breaks down the algorithms and how they affect viewership. This algorithm leads children from simple things to healthy recipes to anorexia. Finally, Frances makes a point on bullying on the platform. Children spend so much time on it that the first and last thing they see is someone being cruel to them.

Her testimony has taken the world by storm that Facebook higher-ups have put out statements against her.
