SURFSIDE, FLORIDA - JULY 03: Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis and his wife, Casey, visit a memorial to those missing outside the 12-story Champlain Towers South condo building that partially collapsed on July 03, 2021 in Surfside, Florida. Over one hundred people are being reported as missing as the search-and-rescue effort continues. (Photo by Michael Reaves/Getty Images)

Recently Florida has had a few interesting visitors, Don Lemon and Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (AOC). Both visitors have been huge critics of Florida and its handling of the Covid-19 Pandemic, calling Florida many names. During AOC’s visit, she was caught partying without a mask, enjoying brunch, and more in Miami. When she was caught and called out for her hypocrisy, she quickly turned to Florida Gov. Ron Desantis and attacked that Ron Desantis had been missing for over two weeks. Ron Desantis had a legitimate reason for attending cancer treatments for his wife, who was diagnosed back in October with breast cancer.

AOC wasn’t the only one critical of Desantis. Jerry Demings slammed Desantis, saying all of Florida” should be outraged” because Desantis hasn’t been seen. It doesn’t stop there, though, as Joy Ried jumped in on it, tweeting, “A governor, not governing during a crisis; and sunning his belly on vacation instead. @GovRonDeSantis is the Nero of Ted Cruzes.

But even with all the attacks Desantis team took to defending the Governor during his time with his wife. Whether it was about AOC’s visit to Florida or giving a gentle explanation for the governor from his press, people were not going to take this lying down.
