Tampa Bay Today With Shriner

For 20 years, the Orpheum has been hosting shows and making itself a staple in Ybor City. But as of a Facebook post yesterday, we will be saying goodbye to this iconic venue. So 20 years, the Orpheum has stood, but it appears that the owners are ready to move on. So technically, the Orpheum is not closing so much as it’s moving to another location. But let’s be honest, it won’t be the same.

No close date has been announced, but shows are booked out till May with a three-month break between then and the next show, which hosts U.K. post-punk goth-rock band The Mission. The loss of the Orpheum from Ybor means the loss of venues that host crowds too large for the Crowbar but too small for the Ritz.
