More and more organizations are gathering supplies in support of Ukraine. Food, money, supplies, and even bulletproof vests. Sadly though, Ukraine will not see 400 of these vests because thieves managed to steal all 400 casually; you are probably going casually. What do you mean? According to reports, they walked in and out promptly without anyone trying to stop them.
400 bulletproof vests about to be sent to Ukraine have just been stolen from a Ukrainian community center on the Lower East Side. Disgusting. NYPD investigating.

Security footage from a neighboring business shows three vans pulling up and men with hoods exiting. Then, slowly and surely, they emptied all the vests from the building they were being stored in and just drove off.
These vests were meant for medical and humanitarian workers to wear during the current conflict between Russia and Ukraine. The gear was part of many tactical supplies the local Law Enforcement Agency collected to help with the current situation.
Investigators say the gate to the property was forced open to get in. The vest were all stored in plain sight to the public. Most of the vests were donated by a local Sherriff’s Department; they were retired vests. The policy of the Sherriff’s department is to replace vests every 5 years despite them still being in good condition.
According to the Post’s reporting, the building is listed as the location for the Ukrainian Congress Committee of America and the Ukrainian National Women’s League of America. [Source Fox News]
