Investor’s Edge with Gary Kaltbaum

If you hope that prices will return to normal after the last few years, you may be in for a rude awakening. Inflation has been on an upward trajectory. Unfortunately, there looks to be no plan to stop anytime soon. Eventually, there will be an end to it, but the rates will likely fall all the way back down. Before, Covid inflation was about 2%, thanks to excellent production and cheap labor. But due to supply chain issues, worker shortages, and demand skyrocketing, Corporations now have to pass their cost down to the consumer.

Gas has also affected the overall issue. Not solely due to Joe Biden but largely due to his policies, the fuel price directly affects the price of goods. When it costs more to ship things, it costs more to get things. The war between Russia and Ukraine has exasperated the problem despite the US only receiving a small amount from Russia but enough to add to our inflation rates. As long as the war persists and Joe Biden’s policy choices continue, Gas prices will remain high, and so will the high prices.

Market Researches say the level of inflation does show signs of coming down over the next few years but gradually. Many are worried the Fed will force a recession in an attempt to calm things down. According to these researches, What America needs is a growing labor force. More workers mean more production, and that means more supply. Therefore, there does not need to be a drop in demand to drop inflation. [Source Axios]
