In the last few years, things seem to have taken drastic turns for the worst. Whether it was because of Covid-19, Summer of Riots, Ukraine versus Russia, you name it, we seem to be circling the proverbial toilet right now. However, something that has not gotten much attention is the massive amounts of attacks on police officers in recent years. A staggering amount of attacks have left officers critically injured or dead that have now outpaced general violent crime.

FBI Director Christopher Wray spoke with “60 Minutes,” sitting murders of police officers rose 59% in 2021. The total murder rate was up 29% last year; the U.S. lost 73 police officers.

“Violence against law enforcement in this country is one of the biggest phenomena that I think doesn’t get enough attention,” Wray said, adding that officers are being murdered at a rate of nearly “one every five days.”

The National Fraternal Order of Police has already announced that shootings of police officers had spiked by 43% since April. Since April 1’s 101 police officers have been shot. Director Wray has also stated that there has been a correlation between attacks with the number of youth committing the acts. [Source Fox News]
