Operation Lone Star is still in full effect on the Texas border. Texas National Guardsmen deployed to the border to assist Border Patrol Agents with the constant surge of immigrants coming through. Troubles have been getting worst with the plan to repeal Title 42 in the coming months, but nothing like this has happened yet. A soldier has gone missing after attempting to save a migrant in the river’s currents.
BREAKING: Multiple sources tell me a Texas National Guard soldier has just drowned in the Rio Grande here in Eagle Pass while trying to save migrants in the water. Texas DPS confirms, and tells me a body has been recovered. I’m told a statement will be coming out soon. @FoxNews

Together with Border Patrol Guard Units are frantically searching for the soldier. Currently, the search is being treated as drowning, with dive teams still on the scene. The soldier entered the water around 830AM and was able to save the migrant female but could not recover himself. Rep. Tony Gonzales, R-Texas, tweeted out an image of the guardsman’s armor, which reportedly he removed before jumping into the water.
