ATLANTA, GEORGIA - MARCH 15: People walk by the world headquarters for CNN on March 15, 2022 in Atlanta, Georgia. Last month CNN's president Jeff Zucker resigned over a consensual, but unreported, relationship with a colleague. Television producer Chris Licht will become the company's new president in April.

During a segment on CNN, they called on Reporter Daniel Dale to go through Biden’s claim that he has helped clear the deficit. A quote from the President stated “Let me remind you again: I reduced the federal deficit,” Biden said during a press brief last week. This was in response to Republicans putting him on blast for the $2.8 Trillion deficit from the fiscal year 2021. The deficit and record-high inflation that is sweeping the nation has Americans worried.

When asked Daniel Dale ‘scoffed’ that anyone would think that President Biden was responsible for lowering the Deficit. Speaking with CNN’s New Day Dale said:

“Experts I spoke to still scoffed at the idea that President Biden is personally responsible for having reduced the deficit. In fact, one advocate of deficit reduction, Marc Goldwein of the Committee for a Responsible Federal Budget, told me that this claim is almost bizarro world, a reversal of reality,”

Dale credits the end of Pandemic spending as the cause of the $360 billion drop in the deficit. That was the only real drop the President managed to attribute to his claim. However, this is countered by the fact that Congress has expected it to be upwards of $870 billion in a total drop. [ Source Mediaite]
