A day on the water almost turned into tragedy. Thankfully these brave and quick-thinking Florida deputies managed to save a man from a burning boat.

This incident happened on the Manatee Pocket waterway near Stuart, Florida. Martin County Sheriff’s Marine Unit deputies came upon a fishing boat on fire. The deputies didn’t hesitate, pulled up to the flaming boat, and jumped aboard to see if anyone was onboard. They dragged a victim to safety while the boat exploded and the fishing tower collapsed. Eyewitness Benjamin Dyall was nearby and captured the deputy’s heroic actions. FYI there is some NSFW language in the video.

The flames were so hot that part of the Sheriff’s office boat melted! The Florida deputies weren’t, but the victim of the burning boat was taken to a hospital to be treated for his injuries. [SOURCE Miami Herald]
