I already cannot stand the people that bring their little yapping dogs inside the restaurant disguised as a an “Emotional Support” animal. What makes you think I’d be happy with flying with an Emotional Support Snake on a plane? This is where you cue that Samuel Jackson quote from “Snakes on a Plane.” Apparently, a dog or pig or some other random animal wasn’t good enough for the passenger no they needed a 4-foot Boa Constrictor.
While doing preliminary scans on luggage leaving Tampa International the TSA scanned and found the snake. When questioned the lady who owned the snake said it was her “Emotional Support” Snake. According to Tampa International Snakes are allowed on the plane but only as checked luggage. They have a specific package procedure as to not recreate “Snakes on a Plane.” Ultimately she was not allowed to take the snake on the plane.
This isn’t the first time a snake has been found at Tampa International. Back in October a snake managed to slither out of its carry-on case scaring passengers on their way from Tampa to New Jersey. There is no word that this snake however was an Emotional Support Snake. [Source DCW50]
