It could be possibly the end of an era for Byron Leftwich as it’s reported he is fired. The disappointing playoff loss to the Cowboys (31-14) on our home turf left a bad taste in not only the players and staff of the Buccaneers but the fans as well. The Pewter Report has allegedly gotten privy to information that suggests Byron Leftwich and others of the team will be fired. The plan is to start from the ground up and redesign the offensive team.
Tampa Bay had the worst rushing yardage of the entire NFL for 2022. This is leading to speculation that Harold Goodwin, Joe Gilbert, and Todd McNair are going to be looking for work here soon as well. All of this of course is speculation based on stats of the last season.
Ultimately this decision is down to Todd Bowels. This will be the first time he will be given a chance to pul in his guys. Coach Bowels has been using the team inherited by Bruce Arians. Bowles has been reported to want to make changes to the Offensive line but because he took the role on so late in the season he decided to work with what he had. He wasn’t signed as the head coach until after free agency was over and all of his top picks were locked into colleges already. This may have been a detriment to the season as a whole.
